I hope that our generation can flush out the evils of the last so that we can finally start living life, and give our future generations the lucky privilege to do the same - from birth.
There’s obviously racism that comes with every war - Australian/American old people have issues with the Japanese, Greek people have issues with the Turkish, there is still worldwide blame directed at the Germans - that’s never going to fix itself. It’s unfortunate and deadly and might kill out our race once day, but we’re never going to all accept each other.
Because some were raised to believe that everyone has equal rights and others were raised beating and burning women and others were raised to stone adulterers and others were raised to consume their relatives once they die and others were raised to chop the hands and limbs from poor thieves and others were raised to survive as a community and others were raised to ignore homeless people on the streets of the city. Some believe that abortion is murder and others believe that it’s a woman’s right to her body and that a fetus is nothing but cells. Some believe rape is a crime while others believe sex with anyone is a birthright that was handed to them when they grew a penis.
Our cultures are never going to agree to just let each other be, because our morals are so different to each other’s. It’s always going to breed hate, and with that, racism and segregation and war crimes and hate crimes and all the things that humans have always struggle with, and always will, because morality isn’t black and white. There’s no “war is bad, but standing against brutal or inhumane murderers is good”. Yes, there are greedy wars, and there are monetary motives that are concealed with patriotism and good will, and there are a million things we don’t know that we maybe should know - but war will never end. I wish there was a solution, but I can’t believe that we’ll ever find one, because we will never all be raised the same way, or see things the same way. Individual thought births amazing creations and inventions and inspirations, and it also breeds hatred and war against those who think differently.
